NIGP's Nominating Committee Announces Slate Of Candidates For 2008-2010 NIGP Board Seats
The NIGP Nominating Committee, responsible for developing the slate of candidates offered to the membership for election, reviewed all applications based on the following criteria:
• contributions to the Institute, chapter affiliates, and the profession
• size and type of governmental unit
• level of education and experience
• level of current professional certification; demonstrated public speaking
and leadership skills
• diversity
After significant deliberation, the Nominating Committee decided to offer a slate of two candidates for each region and for the at-large position where one or more persons expressed an interest. This decision promotes the value of a member-based association, assures transparency in the nominating process and empowers the membership to elect its representatives to the Board.
